Strawberry cultivation is thriving in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture, where Marinetopia Resort is located. The Tango region, including Miyazu City, is known for its robust strawberry farming. The low temperatures from winter to spring allow the strawberries to ripen slowly, resulting in sweet and delicious fruit.

Each season, we cultivate red, white, and pink strawberries in our own farm (greenhouse). During our strawberry picking events, guests can enjoy rare varieties of strawberries that are seldom found on the market.

The main varieties of red strawberries we cultivate are "Suzu" and "Haruhime." These two are the latest strawberry varieties grown from seeds rather than seedlings. Due to the limited supply of seedlings domestically, these strawberries are rarely available in the market. Many guests might be tasting these strawberries for the first time during their visit to Marinetopia Resort's strawberry picking.

"Suzu" is known for its rich sweetness, while "Haruhime" boasts a balanced acidity and sweetness. Both varieties have flesh that is a light red color all the way to the core, offering a classic strawberry aroma and flavor.

When it comes to rarity, white strawberries are equally impressive! Due to the limited number of producers nationwide, white strawberries have a high rarity and have been frequently featured in the media. They have a firm texture, minimal acidity, and a subtle sweetness. Many visitors each year exclaim, "It's my first time seeing one!" and often snap a photo before eating. With an average size of around 35 grams, these large strawberries are also highly photogenic.

The pink strawberry is called "Momo Kaoru." As the name suggests, it emits a sweet fragrance reminiscent of peaches and coconuts. It also has soft, juicy flesh. This variety offers a unique flavor different from what you might typically expect from strawberries, making it a favorite among enthusiasts.

All these strawberries are rare and not commonly found in the market. During the strawberry picking, take your time to savor and compare the different flavors and aromas. A key tip for selecting the ripest strawberries is to look at the calyx; choose ones where the calyx is curled back. Enjoy the delightful experience of tasting these extraordinary strawberries!

All-You-Can-Eat 3-Color Strawberries for 30 Minutes!
One of the reasons why the "3-Color Strawberry Picking" is so popular, besides the opportunity to compare the flavors of these rare strawberries, is that you can eat as much as you want for 30 minutes. With half an hour, you can enjoy strawberries to your heart's content. Freshly picked strawberries offer a freshness and taste that you won't find in store-bought ones.

How to Apply:
You can add the "3-Color Strawberry Picking (30-minute all-you-can-eat)" activity as an option to your preferred accommodation plan (strawberry picking is available to guests staying at Marinetopia Resort). When booking through our website, you can select this option during the reservation process.

Access to the Farm:
Directions to the farm where the strawberry picking takes place will be provided on a map. For guests who require transportation, we offer shuttle services to and from the farm.

One of the great appeals of the 3-color strawberry picking experience is that it's fun for everyone, from children to adults! Since the strawberries are grown in a greenhouse, it's warm inside even if it's cold outside, allowing you to enjoy the activity regardless of the weather.
