In such cases, train travel is convenient. With a train, you don’t need to worry about weather conditions or equipping your vehicle with winter tires. You can also enjoy scenic views from the window and savor unique train station food. Our facility offers a shuttle service from Amanohashidate Station (reservation required), making a train journey to Kyoto and Amanohashidate a recommended option.
How to Travel to Kyoto and Amanohashidate by Train: Enjoy a Comfortable Journey with Shuttle Service from the Station
Traveling from Osaka Station to Amanohashidate Station involves just one transfer and is quite straightforward. Enjoy the beautiful scenery from the train window during the approximately 2-hour and 10-minute journey.
If traveling by train from Osaka:
1. Depart from Osaka Station
From Platform 4 at JR Osaka Station, board the "Limited Express Konotori" train. The ride to Fukuchiyama Station takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
※ "The "Limited Express Konotori" is a train that runs from Shin-Osaka and Osaka to Fukuchiyama, Toyooka, and Kinosaki Onsen. In addition to a regular ticket, you will need a reserved seat ticket. Since it operates roughly once an hour, it is advisable to check the schedule in advance.
2. Transfer at Fukuchiyama Station
Disembark at JR Fukuchiyama Station and transfer to the "Limited Express Hashidate." The "Limited Express Konotori" arrives at platform 4. After arriving, please transfer to the "Limited Express Hashidate," which departs from platform 3 on the opposite side of the same platform. The journey to Amanohashidate Station takes about 40 minutes.
※Note that the transfer is well-coordinated, so the waiting time is typically quite short.
※Note: If using a train other than the "Limited Express Hashidate"
If you are taking a train other than the "Limited Express Hashidate" from JR Fukuchiyama Station to Amanohashidate (such as the Limited Express Tango Relay or Tango Aomatsu), please be aware that these trains depart from the Kyoto Tango Railway platform. You will need to go downstairs and proceed to the designated platform.
3. Amanohashidate Station
Disembark at Amanohashidate Station on the Kyoto Tango Railway.
Exit the ticket gate and head left. Continue straight after leaving the station building, and you will arrive at the parking area where the shuttle vehicle will be waiting.
4. To the Shuttle Vehicle
A shuttle vehicle will come to pick you up at the station (approximately a 30-minute drive to the facility). Of course, the shuttle service is free for guests staying at the facility. With this service, your train journey becomes even more convenient and comfortable.

●Make Your Train Journey More Enjoyable with the "Aomatsu-go" Sightseeing Train!
When traveling to Amanohashidate by train from Osaka, Kyoto, or Kobe, you'll need to transfer to the Kyoto Tango Railway at Fukuchiyama Station. We highly recommend the "Tango Aomatsu-go" sightseeing train. The Kyoto Tango Railway operates several sightseeing trains, and the Aomatsu-go is one of them.
True to its name, the Aomatsu-go features a distinctive blue exterior. As a regular train, it doesn't require any special fare or advance reservation, making it a convenient option for travelers.
The train interior is designed to resemble a chic café, complete with counter seats, sofa seats, and 4-person box seats, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views in comfort. Onboard, you can purchase coffee and snacks, including the unique Tango Railway Coffee, which is only available on this train or at cafés along the Tango Railway line.
Counter seats are popular, so if you want to sit there, be sure to transfer with plenty of time to spare.
●Make the Most of Your Waiting Time with Sightseeing and Strolling! Plenty to See Around Amanohashidate Station
The sightseeing train "Tango Aomatsu-go" has two departures from Fukuchiyama Station: the "Tango Aomatsu 1" at 10:13 AM and the "Tango Aomatsu 3" at 3:00 PM. If you're taking the Aomatsu-go on your return trip, you can catch the "Tango Aomatsu 4" departing from Amanohashidate Station at 12:55 PM. Please note that these times are as of January 2022, so be sure to check the latest schedule on the official website before you travel.
If you have time while waiting for your shuttle bus or train, why not explore and enjoy the local area around Amanohashidate Station? Within a 5-minute walk from the station, you'll find attractions such as the "Amanohashidate View Land," which offers a panoramic view of Amanohashidate, and "Chion-ji Temple," which is dedicated to Monju Bosatsu, the deity of wisdom. The station also has coin lockers where you can store your luggage, allowing you to enjoy your sightseeing and strolling hands-free.
